Pregame Notes 05 April 2008

The Yankees could see a win today, and with Andy Pettitte on the mound, they'll certainly get the chance, but more than that, they can use a good offensive showing.

For having the best line up in the majors, they still have yet to score more than four runs and Canò, Damon and Giambi are all struggling a bit (though in Giambi's defense, he has gotten good swings and robbed a few times). The pitching is great, but on a night like last night, you would have liked to be able to see the offense pick up the bullpen.

Let's hope they can do a better job today.

Melky Cabrera continues to sit out his two game suspension; Matsui will be in left, Damon in center and Shelley DHing. You could make the argument that Matsui should DH, Damon should be in left and Shelley in center, but I'm not sure Shelley has any game at center under his belt, and if the Yankees had to pinch hit for him later (not that they ever would, of course...) you would likely lose the DH because Damon would move to center and Matsui to left.

Enough rambling on my part. Enjoy the game and check back later.
